Passion Pit
An Erotic Adventure Game
May 1, 1988
This is the initial release of Passion Pit. It is based on a program
called Drive-In that has been circulating on the Bulletin Board network for
some time now. My version, however, is so totally different, except in some
phrases and superficial philosophy, that I have absolutely no qualms about
representing this program as mine.
This program has been written with the dual aim of being erotic
without being sexist, and the feedback that I have received thus far
indicates that I have largely succeeded. If I have not, please let me know,
as the material dealing with sex on the Bulletin Boards appears to me to be
grossly sexist in nature, and not really very erotic.
The game itself is self-explanatory, and you should have no trouble
playing it, as long as the Golden Rule is kept firmly in mind. The HELP
windows, I have been told, are rather obscure, but they are in keeping with
my peculiar sense of humor, and my conviction that computers should make one
think rather than do the work for one.
This game remains my property, but I grant permission to copy and
distribute this game through the normal Bulletin Board channels, providing
this .DOC file is included with the game, and no money is charged for it.
The game should work for most versions of DOS and, although set up
for color on an EGA, should work on CGA and Mono monitors also. For the
technically inclined, the program was written with QuickBasic v4.0, using
two commercial libraries, Mach 2 and QuickWindows, both recommended highly.
For the curious, the source code may be available on an individual basis.
I would be happy to receive feedback on the game, including any
errors found, glitches, words that should be added to the vocabulary, or
just plain comments on the quality or philosophy of the game. This is my
first venture into this sort of program, and I am very satisfied with the
results, and I am very interested in whether other folks are too.
